Kedarnath

Kedarnath is one of the most sacred and the pilgrimage site of India, located at an high altitude of 3583 meters above the sea level on the bank of Mandakini River in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand

Kedarnath is one of the most famous and attractive place in India because it is one Twelve Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva and one of the Char Dham Pilgrimage Sites of Uttarakhand along with Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

It is believed that the temple was built by the Pandavas, because at the time of Kurukahetra war, the Pandavas has killed their own relative, teachers and soldiers, then their heart fills with guilt for killing them, so the came to free this sins (Paap) through Lord Shiva, but lord shiva was unhappy with them.

So they took the form of a bull (Nandi) to test their sincerity and they hid in the Himalays and Pandavas searched everywhere, then Bheem Spotted a strange bull at Guptkashi with lots of cattle and tried to stop it, but the Bull (Lord Shiva) tried to dive into the ground to disappear. Bheem grapped him and lord shiva revealed himself and then they forgive them. so the place where hump appeared known as Kedarnath.

Bhairavnath Temple

The Bhairavnath Temple is dedicate to "Lord Bhairav", form of Lord Shiva. It is one of the most significant and religious sites located near the Kedarnath Temple. It is belief that the Lord Bhairav is the protector of the temples, valley, path and all the pilgrimage who are visiting to Kedarnath.

It is believed that when the Kedarnath Temple is close during the Winter Season due to Heavy Snowfall, that time Lord Bhairava protect the entire valley until it reopen. From the temple we see a panoramic views of the Kedarnath Valley and the surrounding Himalayas. 

Vasuki Tal

Vasuki Tal is lake, located at an altitude of 4135 m (13,566 ft) above the sea level. It is about 8 km from the Kedarnath, The Name of the Vasuki Tal is come from the "Vasuki" the king of Serpents, king Vasuki had perform a various tapasya for the Lord Shiva.

When shiva blessed him, the lake become charged with serpent energy, purification, stillness and cosmic protection. 

Gaurikund

Gaurikund is the place where she lived and performed intense tapasya to marry the Lord Shiva, It is about 16 km from Kedarnath, at an altitude of 1982 meter (65100 feet approx). In Gaurikund, there is temple dedicate to Goddess Parvati and name is Gauri Temple. 

In Gaurikund there is a natural hot water spring where the pilgrimage take bath before going to Kedarnath Temple.

Guptkashi

Guptkashi is the place where the Ganga and the Yamuna are meet together, and it is the place where the Lord Shiva hid himself, when the pandavas came to free from sins (Paap) from him.

Gandhi Sarovar

Gandhi Sarovar located about 3 km (approx) from the Kedarnath, it is situated at an high altitude of about 3900 m (12800 ft) above the sea level. The area surrounded with snow and pristine alpine meadows.
